SECOND ANNUAL PRE-CANADA DAY CAMP OUT:

Come on out to the new fields at Manotick Station for an
evening of company, bonfires and general tom foolery.

Headlining the camp out this year is the band Mel Nino who
will be cranking out the tunes. Come out and celebrate our
nations Birthday Eve in style. I only ask that people bring
a few fireworks for our little show.

When:
Wednesday June 30, starting around dark

Bring:
Tents, beverages, games, guitars, etc. We encourage everyone
to camp at the fields for the night if you plan on drinking.

Fireworks:
Are available at the Bakkers General Store at the corner as
you turn on to Manotick Station road. They will be staying
open until 10pm Wednesday evening for your pyrotechnical
satisfaction.

MEN'S REC LEAGUE UPDATE:

Currently there is a men's division that consists of 4 teams
that plays in a league format every Thursday night at 6:30pm.
The 4 teams were formed from individuals that either couldn't
find room on a mixed team or currently play on a team and
wanted to play on an additional night. The overall caliber of
the league is around a C/Novice level. There are still a few
open spots on a couple of teams. So if you are looking to play
ultimate on an additional night this is an opportunity to do
so. After filling the current open roster spots we will be
forming a 5th and 6th team. Everyone is encouraged to join
regardless of experience/skill level.

If you are interested in playing email/contact..

UNKNOWN LEGENDS CO-ED CLASSIC II:

Something's fishy here!

This is to announce The Unknown Legends Co-ed Classic II :
the year of the fish.

On July 10th-11th (no, it's no longer a tournament-free weekend),
held in Hamilton, Ont. This is the tournament's second year,
and we're looking to build on last year's success.

With some luck, you will need no information other than this:
http://www.hamiltonultimate.org/ulcc/

We can only hold 14 teams, and at the time of this opening
announcement we have only 9 spots left. Luckily for you, there
is no song and dance required to gain entry, it will be done
on a first-come first-serve basis.

Troubles and musings should be directed to someone who cares.
There is no one like that around, so the following person may
suffice;

ROSTER DEPOSITS:

The timeline for returning the team roster deposits (for those
of you who submitted your rosters on time) is being delayed.
It is taking much longer then expected to crunch the online
data received through the website. I hope (but not promise)
to be able to mail them out in a week or so.

Thanks
Mike

THROWING FROM YOUR KNEES:

I was asked to clarify whether it was legal to throw from the
knees. Some people believe this is not legal because you have
not established a pivot foot and others think this is traveling?

For what it is worth here is my opinion.

Throwing from the knees is legal if you have one foot (either
the one connected to the knee in question) or the other one
established as a pivot foot. If you drag/move/lift this foot
while throwing THEN you will be traveling. If you drag/move/lift
this foot when you stand up THEN you will be traveling.
