THIRD ANNUAL TURKEY BOWL:

Free ultimate tournament this Sunday October 10th @ Lynda
Lane 10am.

There will be NO league games for the OCUA or PROUF Fall
Leagues this Thanksgiving. However, for those that wish to
chase plastic, there is the Third Annual Turkey Bowl.

The Turkey Bowl is for people who want to play Ultimate, who
can't believe that ANY holiday could supplant League play,
who have NO other plans for Thanksgiving, who want to play
fun disc all day then sit down to a fully catered turkey
dinner (with ALL the fixin's) served at the field for the
winning team (or their "proxies").

A "Proxy" in this case is someone who does not have family in
town and has made no thanksgiving plans.

Most of the people who will play Turkey Bowl have made other
dinner plans, so if their team wins they reward members of
the losing teams with their spots at the tables. The Turkey
Bowl usually try's to accommodate all of these "Frisbee Orphans"
up to about twenty of them anyway.

This is a FREE tournament open to all members playing in the
OCUA and PROUF leagues.

WE'RE GOING TO THE SHOW!!:

Our team "E.H.?!", a ragtag group of women from Ottawa,
Toronto, North Bay and Montreal have qualified for the UPA
Ultimate National Championships in San Diego, California!!
October 28-31.

After winning Sectionals in Geneva, New York, we moved on to
place top three at Regionals in Boston to qualify for a spot
in the American UPA Nationals! However, before we can go to
Nationals we need uniforms!..... In order for us to play at
this elite tournament in San Diego we are required to have
numbered team shirts..... So we're looking for companies/people
to sponsor us for uniforms. We are also looking for sponsorships
to help cover the cost of the air-plane ticket and hotel
accommodations in San Diego!

Help our team get to UPA Nationals and represent Eastern Canada
in style!!!

2ND ANNUAL PLAID JACKET OPEN DISC GOLF TOURNEY - RESULTS:

Congratulations to the following winners:

Open Division - Steve Penny
Women's Division - Roslin Duclos
Ultrastar Division - Ken Lange

The tourney finished off with a great sudden death playoff
between Steve and Andy Morrisey. Steve maintained consistency
throughout the tourney and into the playoffs to beat Andy by
one stoke. Great final for a great weekend.

cost of playing at Nationals 2000 in Vancouver.

We are selling Entertainment book. The large coupon books with
coupons for restaurants, golf courses, theaters, dry cleaning,
just about everything!

The cost of the book is $30, with some of the coupons you can
make that back on the first one. Using only 2 or 3 of the
coupons would recoup the initial investment and there are over
600 coupons in the book! The best part is, we deliver!

OCUA INDOOR WINTER LEAGUE REGISTRATION - WEDNESDAYS:

There are still a few spots available. If you are interested

Details:
League games are Wednesday nights (7pm to midnight) from
Oct 27th, 1999 to March 8, 2000.

There will be 8 teams of 12 players and these teams will
be drafted by the league co-ordinators.

Cost:
$150 per player
Make cheques payable to "Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association"

OCUA INDOOR WINTER LEAGUE REGISTRATION - RECREATIONAL - WEEKENDS:

Do you want to play indoor recreational Ultimate this winter?

The OCUA rec league is Friday and Saturday nights @ 11pm. The
cost is $85 per person for 13 games running from early Nov.
to early March.

All games are played at the coliseum at Lansdowne Park, are
1.5 hours long and include a league T-Shirt.

Players register individually (or in couples) and the teams
will be drawn from a hat/drafted.

To register please submit the following:

Name, sex, email, home & work #'s, skill level 0-9 (0 - never
played before) and height. And also let us know if you want
to be a captain.
