COMPETATIVE MEN'S TOURING TEAM

Here's a shout out to the Ottawa Ultimate Community, and a
little introduction of a new but long overdue competitive
Men's touring team that is currently being put together for
this spring. The team is called Mystery Machine. We currently
have a strong, experienced core of seven, and are eventually
going to fill a roster of roughly 17, hopefully sometime
before our first tournament in early May. Tryouts are going
to be held in the in the next few weeks, as soon as we can
get out on the fields. Practices, involving lots of
scrimmage, are going to be once a week (Tuesdays), with
optional get-togethers on Thursdays to work on skills,
conditioning etc, and maybe the odd weekend scrimmage. We
are planning to go to TUT, JazzFest, No Borders and Nationals
in Edmonton, and maybe two other optional tournaments if the
interest is there.

This is going to be a strong traveling team with some
experienced players out to be competitive and to have fun
playing Ultimate. It will be a real opportunity to learn and
grow (as an Ultimate player anyway) both individually and as
a team.

For anyone who doesn't know about touring, or feels
intimidated (and you shouldn't), then listen to the radio
interview at the Toronto Ultimate website - www.tuc.org -
(half way down the home page) to get a flavour of what's
involved. There is a team for you.

So come on out to...location and dates to be announced as
soon as we have them - we're all getting just as antsy as you
are. If you have any questions, you can contact Chris Keith
at keithchris@hotmail.com. So, please spread the word, and
see you out on the grass soon.

for help and players who can teach teams needing help.

This commitment could be as little as one afternoon or game.
If you have more time to help, even better!

Not a lot of experience is necessary to coach a team. Some
