LOOKING FOR MEDIA WATCHERS!

The communications cell of the OCUA board is looking for a
few dedicated individuals who are tuned into the media. If
you are tuned in and keep you eyes and ears on the media,
this is the volunteer position for you! You would be
required to clip or record any ulti news that you read or
hear. You may be called upon to clip or record an upcoming
media event that involves OCUA or ultimate in general. There
may even be opportunities for you to try out your writing
skills as some media pieces may require a timely response.
All drafted responses will be then reviewed by the
communications cell so they can be sent as an official OCUA
response. The dedicated individuals who wish to get involved
will make up what will be known as the media working group
which will be led by the communications cell. If you are
interested in becoming part of this innovative working
group, please email communications@ocua.ca and cc.
volunteer@ocua.ca with a brief paragraph outlining your
interest and/or experience in the area of media relations by
Sept. 30.

PICK-UP THIS SUNDAY AT UPI

Following the great success of the Labour Day pickup game at
UPI, we are doing it again this weekend! We've got the
fields so let's use them.

Sunday, Sept 7th, 2pm, UPI. Bring a light and dark shirt and
some water. Everyone is welcome...all levels, all nights,
all tiers. Spread the word!!

There will be some field maintenance going on but there will
be empty fields. If a field is flagged that means it is not
for use. Stay off of it.

SPIRIT 2003 CHARITY ULTIMATE TOURNAMENT

I would like to call your attention to a great event for you
and your team to participate in this fall. It is the Spirit
2003 Charity Ultimate Tournament. The Spirit 2003 Ultimate
Charity Tournament was created to raise funds for five local
mental health charities and to increase awareness and
sensitization about mental health conditions and the people
they affect. It is an all day event being held on September
13, 2003 at the Nepean Equestrian Park. There are some great
bonuses as well...free lunch, great entertainment, 3 to 4
games, a beer tent etc. There are even prizes for teams with
the most pledges and other incentive prizes up for grabs.
This is the first year of this event which has been
organized to become what the HOPE beach volleyball event has
become for beach volleyball but for ultimate instead. OCUA
has been working hard over the past year with this
organizing committee as the event's community partner and we
hope that you will encourage your teams to sign up and show
your support for this worthwhile event.

All the information you need can be found online at:

Come on out and enjoy the fun!

Thanks in advance for your support,
Robin Kealey
