Help Me:

I am looking for someone to sublet my room starting in mid-
April and for at least the summer, maybe longer. It is a
good-sized room (with a little balcony) in a spacious house
with two super Ultimate-loving roommates (Richard Griffith
and Andre Larade). The locations is 23-1/2 Laurel St. (it's
a little street off Preston St, between Somerset and
Gladstone).

The room is furnished, but the furniture can be removed if
necessary. The rent is $345 plus utilities. There is a
kitchen, dining room, living room, reading/compputer room,
back yard and spacious basement for storage. There is also a
washer and dryer in the house. If you are interested, or
know anyone who might be, please call Roxane at 233-6092
(home) or 236-8481 (office).

Still Need a Few More Apple Tree Pruner Volunteers:

Come on out and get to know the future site of many an
Ultimate game to come. Besides the field development, there
are many other aspects of the overall land development &
maintenance which will rely on the good will of Ottawa's
Ultimate community to volunteer some hours. One of these
aspects is the maintenance of some very old apple trees.

If you've got the will (and hopefully a set of pruners),
we've certainly got the way to use them. This Sunday,
starting at 10:00am, at the new land which is 1.5 - 2km
south along Manotick Station Rd. Drinks (including beer) and
pizza will be served for lunch.

Please contact Sandy Osler at 443-3026 or
Sandra_Osler@dmr.ca.

Comment:

I have been getting a few people asking me when the spring
season will start or when the captains meeting is or who
is the co-ordinator for such and such a league, etc.

For the most part I don't know these answers right now.
We are having a league co-ordinators meeting a week from
now and I am sure most (if not all) of these questions
will be answered.

There will be announcements in future Ultimate Happenings
with all of the answers so stay tuned.

On an entirely different note. The Tuesday 5/2 league that
I ran last year suffered from a lack of teams. We only had
8 and the calibre of the teams ranged from High A to middling
C. This did not make for competitive games throughout the
season. Rumours are some teams (Bruce, etc.) may be leaving
to go to Wednesday night for a higher level of play. I am
curious (from a co-ordinator point of view) what people
would suggest to keep Tuesday 5/2 a viable league and to
attract more teams. At the same time if there is a new
team that is curious about joining or an old team coming
back please let me know so I can get a rough idea of how
many teams there will be.

 Thanks Mike
