HARD CORE LOGO - OCUA LOGO DESIGN CONTEST:

OCUA is doing some terrific things for Ultimate, both on a
local and world-wide scale. We have the largest Ultimate league
in the world, and more importantly, that membership has driven
the development of the world's first ever Ultimate facility.
These are significant steps in improving Ultimate's recognition
among the general populace, but we need to continue moving
forward if we hope to achieve acceptance as a legitimate sport
on a large scale. In so doing, our image becomes more and more
important, as we establish more contact with governments,
community organisations, educational institutions, and corporate
sponsors to reach our goal. As a result, we'd like to bring
the OCUA logo into the new millennium. What is the OCUA logo,
you ask? Well, it's the "Doober"... the silhouette graphic of
an individual laying out to catch the disc - certainly a fine,
tried and true symbol of Ultimate.

We'd like to see if we can come up with something even better,
however, and we'd like our members to do it. We know there are
lots of talented, artistic types among our ranks, and so we're
sure that we can get lots of good ideas. We're thinking of
something a little more professional looking, yet still
embodying the spirit of the sport. A good example of such a
logo would be Vancouver's - you can check it out at
http://www.vul.bc.ca. But feel free to send us anything which
you feel truly represents Ottawa Ultimate.

At the same time OCUA will be having some discs made for the
spring. We also would like to see any ideas for a good disc
design. We may or may not use the new OCUA logo on these discs.
So if you have any ideas for an OCUA disc design send it in as
well.

Here are the details:
