IMPORTANT DATES TO TAKE NOTE OF:

We are still finalising these items. All of the information,
when available, will be announced in a future UH post.

These dates are being announced now to give everyone time to
make plans and contact people.

Please, please, please pass this information on to others who
might not receive Ultimate Happenings!

Apr 14:     OCUA Spring Captain's Meeting
- Every team (new or returning) MUST have a representative
  attending this meeting!

May 1:      OCUA Registration
- Every team must pay their team fees by this date. Start
  collecting the money from your team-mates now.

May 3:      First day of summer league
- Yea, swilly hammers!

May 22:     OCUA Roster Submission Deadline
- This gives you 3 weeks to get the roster from your team.
  This is the only "red-tape" we ask of our captains but we
  really need this information.

This is a listing of other "Ultimate" dates throughout the
summer. We are still confirming these in many cases so do
not consider these to be correct or complete. If anyone spots
an error (or can fill in a blank) please let me know. With
your feedback we hope to publish a final version of these
dates in the next Ultimate Happenings.

The 14th annual March Meltdown is a go... it will be held at
Lynda Lane this Saturday March 6th, starting at 10 am.

The cost of the Tournament is $75 dollars per team. These

MARCH MELTDOWN PARTY:

PARTY DOWN PEOPLE

Saturday, March 6th @ Barrymores.
										
On Saturday March 6th 'O.C.U.A' and 'March Meltdown' will be
hosting the 1999 season commencing "kick-off party" featuring
those darlings of the Toronto music scene 'SUPERFREAK'.

For those that remember last fall, 'SUPERFREAK' closed up the
'98 Fall League season with a "grande soiree" at 'the Cave'.
This year we are hoping for an even larger turnout, so dig
out them dancin' shoes and come on downtown to Barrymores
and party.

CANADIAN NATIONALS MEETING:

The next meeting for X111 Canadian Nationals' will be held on
March 11th at 7 pm, 'Cleave Physio', 180 Metcalfe.

ULTIMATE NEWS - ATHLETICS REPORT DECISION ANNOUNCED:

At 10 a.m. today, President Van Loon will hold a news conference
announcing his decision to accept the Athletics Board Report
and its recommendations for the future of competitive sport
at Carleton. The recommendations focus on an integrated sport
structure, which incorporates a more gender equitable environment,
greater opportunities for student participation and a successful
and viable competitive program. Under this new structure, the
football program will be cut.

The "new" look of competitive athletics will see two divisions
of Varsity sports (play at the CIAU and OUA levels) and a third
Competitive Sports Club level (no CIAU or OUA play).

Division 1: VARSITY
 Basketball (M & W),
 Fencing (M & W),
 Nordic Skiing (M & W),
 Soccer (M & W),
 Water Polo (M & W).

Division II: VARSITY
 Field Hockey (W),
 Golf (M),
 Rowing (M & W),
