Summer Pre-Season Beginner Clinic - Saturday May 15th

Need to sharpen your skills? Want to get out on the field early?
OCUA is offering a beginner clinic for players who are fairly new to the game and looking to get some valuable pointers before starting their season.
Captains – if you have some new players who could use some instruction, please refer them to this clinic!
Learn to Play 2010
Submitted by drupal-admin on March 24, 2010 - 2:12pm.OCUA is proud to offer the Learn to Play Program for a fourth year with four sessions offered at two different indoor venues. Beginner and Sophomore sessions will run Monday nights at the Hornets Nest SuperDome (East) and on Thursday nights at the Ben Franklin SuperDome (West). All sessions are co-ed and will run for 4 weeks in April.
Beginner: For very new players who want to learn the game from the ground up. The first clinic of the Beginner sessions will consist of two hours of instruction, after which each two-hour clinic will be broken up into one hour of instruction and drills and one hour of scrimmage.
Sophomore: For those who have played 1 or 2 years and want some help getting out of the 'rookie' category. For the Sophomore sessions, each clinic will have one hour of coaching followed by one hour of scrimmage.

Glebe Family Fun League - Sundays
The season will run from May 30th to June 27th. All games will be scheduled at Glebe Memorial Park (Glendale Park) in the Glebe and will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. This division was developed to allow parents and kids (generally aged 8 to 13) to enjoy the sport of ultimate together. No experience is required.

Fees for the Family Fun league are $20 per family or $10 per individual.
Ottawa South Family Fun League - Sundays
The season will run from May 30th to June 27th. All games will be scheduled at Windsor Park in Old Ottawa South and will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. This division was developed to allow parents and kids (generally aged 8 to 13) to enjoy the sport of ultimate together. No experience is required.

Free ODSA Introductory Clinic - Sat. October 3rd - CANCELLED

Unfortunately, there wasn't enough interest to hold the clinic this time around.
This free 2-hour clinic will be hosted by the ODSA (Ontario Disc Sports Association) on Saturday, October 3rd, from 10am to noon, at St. Paul's.
Participants will be welcomed and introduced to disc sports, through hands-on instruction learning numerous types of throws as well as basic catching techniques. Individuals will then be given an overview of the game of Ultimate (basic rules and fundamentals) with an opportunity to play the game with other newer players.

OCUA Hall of Fame Nominations Open
Submitted by David Smith (sm... on October 17, 2008 - 2:42pm.The OCUA Hall of Fame Committee would like to take this opportunity to open up the nominations period for the 2009 OCUA Hall of Fame Induction. Nominations are now open until the end of the calendar year, with inductees of the 2009 class being unveiled at the Summer League Captain's Meeting.
As noted in the Board's Hall of Fame policy (found at http://www.ocua.ca/node/15), nominations submitted are kept on file for 5 years. With that said, new information contributed in subsequent nominations will be added to that nominee's file.

Innovative Public-Private Partnership Creates Four New Ultimate Frisbee Fields for the Ottawa Community

Yasir Naqvi, MPP for Ottawa Centre, joined Ontario Trillium Foundation representative Frank Dyson to congratulate OCUA at a full day’s worth of family activities that included demonstrations of the sport of ultimate and regular league games.
