Competitive Ultimate
What is Competitive?
There are several teams in Ottawa that hold open tryouts in the spring. Once the team is selected they train and practice together during the week and travel to tournaments on some weekends throughout the summer. There are men's, women's, juniors, masters and coed competitive teams. The number of practices and tournaments varies from team to team but most practice twice a week and attend 6-8 tournaments.
Why OCUA Competitive?
In most cases OCUA introduces the game to the majority of people in Ottawa that these teams draw on for talent. OCUA also provides much appreciated practice fields and financial assistance to the teams. In exchange, the competitive teams help improve the quality of the OCUA league by offering clinics, organizing hat tournaments and volunteering.
