Heat Advisory

Due to the extreme heat and humidity today, Tuesday Aug 1, we remind everyone to take extra breaks and drink plenty of fluids.
We are modifying two rules for tonight only:
Each team will have 3 timeouts per half instead of 2. Each of them can be 2 minutes instead 70 seconds.
Heat related substitutions will be permitted.
We strongly encourage teams take the full 10 minutes at half time and seek shade (bring your own if necessary)
These changes are in line with other local sporting associations.
OCUA will not force a team to play. It is always your choice and the choice of your players.
As usual teams can decide to postpone the game if both captains are in agreement.

My team is not very interested in playing in this weather.
Can we re-schedule or do we loose by default.
Frankly, we are not concerned about loosing by default.
I feel strongly that 48 degrees is not very comfortable.
The news update say to stay in.
Stay away from extreme sports.

I"ve also heard somewhere that all outdoor sports are cancelled due to the heat.

Fair enough, but I don't own one big enough to sit under and have yet to see one at any game i've been to this summer.

There was a thread on this topic last week or the week before... to paraphrase, "Bring lots of water, drink lots of water throughout the day"
If your team won't play, do the courteous thing and look up the other Captain in LeagueRunner, call him, and tell him you're forfeiting.
