Shrike Competitive Open Team

$20 total fee for both tryouts. The Open program has an understanding with the Mixed program so that players may try out for both programs and choose the team that best suits their interests.

Shrike is the Open competitive club representing the Ottawa Gatineau Region and member of the OCUA Competitive Alliance.

Shrike Vision: To provide its members with a positive, competitive and dynamic environment in which to play, improve, and develop in the sport of ultimate.
Shrike Goals for 2017
  • Maximize the development of each of its members in the sport of ultimate;
  • Have fun;
  • Qualify for and compete in the Canadian Ultimate Championships. 
Pre-Season Conditioning
Preparation for the 2017 season is already under way. The open program is running indoor track workouts every Tuesday from January-March. In April conditioning opportunities will be increased to two times per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Please feel free to join us or get in touch if you are interested in following the conditioning program on your own time.
Shrike will practice two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM beginning May 9, 2017 to August 15, 2017.
Shrike will compete in the following tournaments in the 2017 season:
TUF, Toronto, May 6-7* (optional, date not confirmed);
NYWU, Middletown, NY, June 3-4;
Jazz, Montreal, June 10-11;
Regionals, Waterloo, July 8-9;
No Borders, Ottawa, July 22-23;
CUC, Ottawa, August 17-20 (need to qualify).
