JOBS JOBS JOBS - VOLUNTEER OF COURSE!
We've got them and we want you to have them!
We currently need:
- One volunteer co-ordinator for the summer league -Monday
night tiers This involves scheduling league games for the
entire summer season and being in close touch with captains
to make sure that your tiers run smoothly. Computer access
is necessary to enable you to enter scheduling information.
Good negotiating skills and the ability to work with Steve
Ott and Lauren Wardell are all an asset.
- Translators - English to French. We are looking for
people to set to work translating the 10th edition into
French. Strong French grammar, conversation and a clear
knowledge of the rules are imperative.
Please contact volunteer@ocua.ca if you're interested or
want more information.

LOOKING FOR NRC EMPLOYEES
Do you work for the NRC? If so OCUA could really use your
help. We are in the process of trying to get space at the
NRC facility on Montreal Rd. at Blair, but need the requests
to come from employees. Contact Nick Roberts, gm@ocua.ca
************************************************************
LOOKING FOR GREEN SPACE NEAR YOU
Does your place of work have open green space around the
buildings with parking lots that are empty after 6pm? Do you
think that your employer might consider allowing OCUA to run
games twice a week on their land? We have entered into
agreements with Public Works, Metlife, Nortel, etc. for this
type usage in the past and would like to do it again. If you
would like more information, contact Nick Roberts,
gm@ocua.ca

CALLING ALL EASTENDERS
Especially those in the former municipality of Cumberland!
OCUA is trying to get Ultimate fields built at the new
Millenium Sports Park on Trim Rd. We need your help. In the
highly charged xenophobic atmosphere that surrounds the
project we are once again seen as 'outsiders' in our own
City. There will be a public 'Open House' to get input. It
will be held on April 22, 7 to 9pm at the Cumberland Public
Library, 1599 Tenth Line Rd. Room 103. Please let Nick
Roberts know if you are able to attend. gm@ocua.ca Thank
You.

OCUA DISCS
OCUA Discs are now available. If you wish to pick them up at
the captains meeting, please contact Nick Roberts gm@ocua.ca
and let him know how many your team would like. The discs
are $10 each.

DAREDEVIL DISCS HAVE ARRIVED!
Finally a Canadian Made Disc!
By Wah Phung-Lu
A few years back my business partner, Mike Seaby, and I were
wondering why there was no company in Canada that produced
Ultimate discs. The States have Discraft, Whammo, and
Innova, but with the dollar as weak as it is, and the cost
of shipping, taxes, and duty it didn't make much sense for
leagues, teams or tournaments to print their own discs.
Leagues and teams make almost nothing off of this potential
fundraiser, and tournaments have to raise prices to ensure
they don't lose money on leftover stock.
We decided to become part of the solution. After two years
of work we have found the right mould maker, plastics
supplier, hot stamping machine, etc. We are now finally able
to produce quality Ultimate discs that are exactly what you
are used to playing with. We have even come up with the idea
of manufacturing slightly softer discs for Fall League.
Everyone hates the feeling of a frozen disc hitting their
hands, and this new disc should help those stinging finger
tips!
We like to think that we are offering a nice down-to-earth
feeling for people trying to order their own custom made
discs. No more hassling with large minimum orders or long
turnaround times anymore! We can even help with the design;
we have been designing discs and Ultimate jerseys in OCUA
for over 12 years now.
We would love to talk to you about your idea for your team's
design. Feel free to check us out on-line at
www.daredevildiscs.com or e-mail us at
daredevildiscs@hybridpro.com
