        *** EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FIELDS NOTICE! ***          

Sick of not having any City fields? Tried of waiting for 
permitted replacements for the open green space we use? You 
can make a difference!

As you may be aware the OCUA is involved with several fields 
initiatives, three of which will need your help in the next 
week. It is an unfortunate truth that the City of Ottawa 
operates on a very regional level, and at every meeting your 
League reps go to they are viewed as outsiders. 

This is where you can play a huge role. We need members that 
live in the effected areas to go and speak on their League's 
behalf. The three projects are Ben Franklin Park in Nepean, 
and there will be a public open meeting on September 23rd at 
Pope John XXIII School on Knoxdale Road. It starts at 7 PM.

The second is Lynda Lane. There will be a PAC meeting at 
6:30pm on September 19th to discuss various options for the 
Lynda Lane, Smyth Road intersection. This effects us because 
there are neighbours who would like to see this area turned 
into a thru way for cars. If you plan to attend this meeting 
e-mail for details.

The third is the Petrie Island Park project. The OCUA and 
the ODGC need members who live in the east end to attend the 
public open house on this and push for a disc golf course 
and Ultimate fields. It will be September 18 5 - 9 pm 
Orléans Client Service Centre (former Cumberland Town Hall) 
255 Centrum Blvd. 2nd floor gallery.
