OTTAWA ICE BOWL II
No Wimps, No Whiners!
The Ice Bowl is back, last year we raised a pile o' cash and
a whack o' food and we're ready to do it again!
There are 3 rules for the International fiesta known as Ice
Bowl:
Rule #1. Under no circumstances may an Ice Bowl be cancelled
or postponed because of weather conditions.
Rule #2. No wimps or whiners are allowed.
Rule #3. There are no excuses for not attending. (Either be
there or be a wimp!)
Saturday February 1, 2003 is the day to mark on your
calendar as we prove to Canada, North America and the World
that Ottawa has the heartiest disc golfers around.
Last year won the distinction of having the "Event with the
absolutely worst (or most challenging) Ice Bowl weather
conditions" and we received a $10 credit toward our total
amount raised for 2003. Yay us!
Tee off time will be 11:00 a.m. at Jacques Cartier Park in
Gatineau. The tourney fees are $25 ($20 if you are an ODGC
member) AND at least one bag of non- perishable food items
for donation to the Ottawa Food Bank
(http://www.theottawafoodbank.com). You can also bring one
Christmas present you received but did not really appreciate
(but someone else might) for the charity auction. There
will be an Ace Pool, 50/50 draw, limited sales of Mulligans
and Sideshow events. Bring lots of Loonies and Twonies!!
Tim Horton's in Aylmer will be supplying coffee and baked
goods for our golfers. The Ultimate Disc Golf Store and
Disc Golf Stuff are among the groups donating prizes for
this fine event and we will run the auction and distribute
prizes at The New Edinburgh Pub following the golfing
action.
