Indoor Leagues - Summary of Rules

Below is a summary of each OCUA winter league's specific rules and policies.

ALL OCUA INDOOR LEAGUES

  • All mixed teams will be required to assign a captain or assistant captain of both genders. We have already assigned a male and female captain for each team but you are more than welcome to alter this designation as long as you maintain one captain of each gender.
  • Games are played to time and not to score.
  • Once the end of your timeslot has been reached, the game ends immediately, regardless of the status of the game. Games may end while the disc is in the air and ties are allowed.
  • Under no circumstances can teams play past their allocated timeslot.
  • Captains need to ensure there are no items on the playing field and clear a path along the sideline if necessary.
  • All pulls are made from the back of the endzone.
  • The brick mark is 8m from the front of the endzone.
  • A timeout lasts 60 seconds; a timeout cannot be called in the last 5 minutes of the game. HOWEVER, if a timeout was called in the last 5 minutes, the marker resumes the stall count with the number last uttered before the call plus three. If this results in a stall count of ten or above, this is a turnover. Before a game begins, the Captains should agree on a time piece if a clock is not easily visible from the playing field.
  • All substitute players must have an updated Annual Membership. Sub approval is not required during the regular season.
  • By default, foot blocks are permitted in all OCUA leagues.
